With reference to your letter dated the 23rd

JULY, (C.F.14068/26), forwarding a copy of a telegram

from the Governor of Hong Kong in regard to the Hong Kong

and Whampoa Dock Company who are tendering for the

construction of a Floating Dock for Singapore, I am

commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty

to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary

of State for the Colonies, that the tender of that

firm will receive very careful consideration in

conjunction with tenders which are expected from firms

in this country.
